Ava Pendleton launched Austin Kuih Co. in 2021 as a pandemic passion-project

…but her fascination with kuih began as a kid, when she would help her Acik Ina make kuih to jual roadside in their small kampung.

Now she offers off-the-beaten-path dining experiences in Austin, Texas often incorporating regionalized and agak-agak versions of family recipes learned from her aunties, her mom, and her Nenek’s time working in a kopitiam.

Austin Kuih Co. specializes in Malaysian and Indonesian heritage foods, offering a variety of gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan and custom options for teas, celebrations and special gatherings.
